Clipboard data transfer continues after cancelation

Problem

When transferring a text or image from the remote computer to your local desktop using the copy-paste method, the data transfer operation may continue even after cancelation.

Cause

This issue may arise if Clipboard history is enabled on either end.

Solution

The issue will be fixed in an upcoming update. For the time being, you may choose to disable the Clipboard history option within Windows Settings when working with a remote computer:

  1. Open Windows Settings (Win+I).
  2. Go to System.
  3. Turn the toggle to Off for Clipboard history.

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11
