SetMe's licensing explained

Last updated on Nov 21, 2024

SetMe is available in two pricing plans, Solo and Professional, that are designed to fit the needs of businesses and organizations of all sizes. A table outlining the full feature-set available with each plan is available on our website.

SetMe's licensing model is based on the number of purchased seats which determine the maximum number of techs that can run support sessions at the same time and the maximum number of licensed users that you can add to your account.

SetMe Solo is always limited to 1 seat with a single user. SetMe Professional allows you to purchase the number of seats based on your team’s concurrent usage requirements and share the purchased seats amongst your techs.

SetMe Solo

SetMe Solo is designed specifically for the needs of single-person businesses or IT departments that don't require additional reporting/user management capabilities and expect to manage 200 or less unattended machines.

Solo plan includes:

  • 1 licensed user
  • Connecting to an unlimited number of attended devices
  • Managing up to 200 unattended devices
  • Unlimited concurrent support sessions

SetMe Professional

SetMe Professional offers the freedom of managing an unlimited number of unattended computers and is a more suitable option for businesses operating in a multi-user environment due to its additional reporting and user management capabilities.

Professional plan includes:

  • 1 concurrent user per purchased seat
  • 3 licensed users per purchased seat
  • Connecting to an unlimited number of attended devices
  • Managing an unlimited number of unattended devices
  • Unlimited concurrent support sessions
  • Seat management
  • User management
  • Team reports

Explaining seats in Professional plan

With SetMe Professional, seats determine the maximum number of technicians within your team that can concurrently connect to remote computers. In other words, the more seats you get, the more techs can run support sessions at the same time. Each technician can also run an unlimited number of simultaneous support sessions.

Example 1: You've purchased 1 seat and created 3 users. Only 1 of the 3 users can run support sessions at any given time. This user can handle an unlimited number of support sessions simultaneously.

Example 2: You've purchased 2 seats and created 5 users. Only 2 of the 5 users can start support sessions at any given time. Each of the 2 users can handle an unlimited number of support sessions simultaneously.

If you need multiple users to simultaneously run support sessions, you would need to purchase a corresponding number of seats.

Explaining licensed users

SetMe Professional allows you to create an unlimited number of users on the account, regardless of the number of purchased seats. However, there's a limit for the number of licensed users that you can create with this plan (3 licensed users per seat).

Licensed users have full access to the SetMe web portal, Expert console, and can run support sessions. Unlicensed users have full access to SetMe's web portal where they can view/edit reports, create/edit users and permissions, manage the subscription and billing, but can't run support sessions. You can easily reassign licensed user permissions within the web portal.
