SetMe's licensing explained

Last updated on Jul 04, 2024

SetMe is available in two pricing plans, Professional and Ultimate, that offer the same set of features. The only differences between the available plans are their available unattended machine limits and maximum number of licensed users.

With both plans, SetMe's licensing model is based on the number of purchased seats which determine the maximum number of techs on your team that can run support sessions at the same time and the maximum number of licensed users that you can add to your account. A SetMe seat is not tied to any specific user or machine, and can be shared amongst multiple technicians or installed on any number of machines. This flexible seat model allows you to purchase the number of seats based strictly on your team’s concurrent usage requirements and share the purchased seats amongst your techs.

Explaining seats

Seats determine the maximum number of technicians within your team that can concurrently connect to remote computers. In other words, the more seats you get, the more techs can run support sessions at the same time. Each technician can also run an unlimited number of simultaneous support sessions.

Example 1: You've purchased 1 seat and created 3 users. Only 1 of the 3 users can run support sessions at any given time. This user can handle an unlimited number of support sessions simultaneously.

Example 2: You've purchased 2 seats and created 5 users. Only 2 of the 5 users can start support sessions at any given time. Each of the 2 users can handle an unlimited number of support sessions simultaneously.

If you need multiple users to simultaneously run support sessions, you would need to purchase a corresponding number of seats.

Explaining licensed users

Both SetMe plans allow you to create an unlimited number of users on the account, regardless of the number of purchased seats. However, there's a limit for the number of licensed users that you can create with each plan.

Licensed users have full access to the SetMe web portal, Expert console, and can run support sessions. Unlicensed users have full access to SetMe's web portal where they can view/edit reports, create/edit users and permissions, manage the subscription and billing, but can't run support sessions. You can easily reassign licensed user permissions within the web portal.
