Install SetMe Client
You can install the SetMe Client application on a remote computer when you need to connect to it on a recurring basis at the user's request. Unlike Unattended Access, the installed application does not allow connections when the user is away. However, it simplifies the connection process in the following ways:
- The user launches SetMe Client from their desktop to obtain a Client ID, without needing to download it in the browser each time.
- SetMe Client starts directly in Admin mode without any additional UAC prompts.
- SetMe Client automatically updates when a new version is released, eliminating the need for manual updates.
You can install the SetMe Client app on an unlimited number of computers.
Install SetMe Client in a support session
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- Start a new support session.
- If the support session is running in User mode, switch it to Admin mode.
- On the Session panel, click the Install client app tab.
- Click Install client app.
- Click Yes to confirm.
Once the installation is complete, the SetMe Client app icon appears on the remote computer's desktop.
You can also install the SetMe Client app using the installer available in SetMe Downloads. For mass deployment, an MSI package is available.
