Working in a support session
Once connected to a remote device, you can perform the following actions and operations:
- Control the remote device via Remote Desktop
- Exchange text messages with the remote user
- Restart or shut down the remote device
- View the remote device's system information
- Set up unattended access on the remote device
Multiple connections to the remote desktop are supported within a single support session. Disconnecting from the remote desktop does not terminate the session.
If the remote user does not have administrative privileges, the support session starts in User mode. In this mode, you can use most features to manage the remote device. However, some features require administrative access and are only available in Admin mode. In such cases, you can restart the session in Admin mode using the Run as admin option. You will need to provide the administrator username and password for the remote device.
You can put your computer to sleep whenever you need a break. All support sessions will automatically resume after the computer wakes up.
To close a support session, click End Session. The remote user can also disconnect from the session by closing the SetMe Client application.
