Remote Desktop settings
The Remote Desktop section of the Expert console settings allows you to customize remote desktop behavior and options. You can configure the following settings:
Default remote desktop settings
These are the default settings applied when connecting to a remote desktop. You can modify these settings from the remote desktop toolbar during a session
- Hide the remote computer's background image: select this option to hide the desktop background image on the remote device.
- Lock remote keyboard/mouse: select this option to disable mouse and keyboard control on the remote device.
- Enable blank screen: select this option to hide the device screen from the remote user.
- Clipboard sharing: manage file and object sharing via the clipboard.
- Disabled: select this option to prevent data exchange with the remote device via the clipboard
- Bidirectional: select this option to allow data exchange with the remote device via the clipboard in both directions.
- Local to remote: select this option to allow data transfer only from your clipboard to the remote device.
- Remote to local: select this option to allow data transfer only from the remote clipboard to your device.
- Drag and drop: manage file and object sharing via drag and drop.
- Disabled: select this option to prevent file exchange with the remote device via drag and drop.
- Bidirectional: select this option to allow file exchange with the remote device via drag and drop in both directions.
- Local to remote: select this option to allow file transfer only from your device to the remote device.
- Remote to local: select this option to allow file transfer only from the remote device to your device.
- View mode: manage the scaling mode of the remote screen.
- Original size: select this option to set the remote desktop window size to match the screen resolution on the remote device.
- Scale to window: select this option to automatically scale the remote screen to fit the remote desktop window size.
- Optimal view: select this option to show the remote screen in the most convenient view for working. Size and scale are automatically calculated based on your settings and the remote device.
- Custom zoom: select this option to scale the remote screen by a specified value.
- Image quality: manage the image quality of the remote desktop:
- High Speed: select this option to use 8-bit color to minimize latency when working on the remote device.
- Optimal Speed/Quality: select this option to use 16-bit color for an optimal balance between latency and image quality.
- High quality: select this option to use 24-bit color to view the remote desktop in greatest detail.
- View options for multiple remote displays: manage how a remote desktop with multiple displays is shown:
- View all displays in a single window: select this option to show all remote displays in one remote desktop window.
- View all displays in separate windows: select this option to show remote displays in separate windows.
- View main display: select this option to show only the main display of the remote device. After connecting, you can select a different display.
- Save settings for each remote computer: select this option to restore remote desktop settings when reconnecting to a remote device. If this option is disabled, the default settings from this section are applied on subsequent connections.
