Text chat

You can exchange text messages with the remote user. All chat messages are encrypted using end-to-end encryption, ensuring complete confidentiality.
On the Expert's side, the chat panel is available in two locations:
- In the Expert console: On the Session Panel, in the Text chat tab.
- In the Remote Desktop window: Via the Text chat button on the toolbar.
On the Client's side, the chat panel is displayed in the SetMe Client application. If the Hide SetMe appliation on the remote computer option is enabled when connecting to an unattended computer, the Client application is hidden and the remote user will not see the messages you send. For the remote user to see your messages, disable Hide SetMe application on the remote computer on the Session panel > Options tab.The Client application window, containing the chat history, or will be displayed on the remote device.
Send chat message from the SetMe Expert console
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- Start a new support session.
- On the Session Panel, click the Text chat tab, then type your message and press Enter.
Send chat message from the Remote Desktop window
- Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
- Start a new support session.
- Start remote control or remote view.
- On the toolbar, click the Text chat button, then type your message and press Enter.
