Basic access options

Basic access options are only available in the SetMe Professional edition.

Basic access settings allow you to grant other users in your company access to your unattended devices. The following basic settings are available:

  • Only I can see and access the unattended device: only the device owner and administrators have access to the unattended device. Users assigned with Agent roles cannot see or access the device.
  • Any agent can see and access the unattended device: apart from the device owner and administrators, all agents have access to the unattended device.

Agents who have been granted shared access to a device can perform the following actions on that device:

Configure access options

Configure access options when installing unattended access in a support session

  1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
  2. Connect to the remote device using a Client ID.
  3. Go to the Unattended access tab in the Session panel
  4. Click Show unattended access settings, and then click Edit in the Access options section.
  5. Select an access option and click Save.
  6. Optional: configure any other unattended access settings.
  7. Click Install unattended access.

The new unattended device will be created with the specified access settings.

Configure access options when generating an unattended access installer

  1. Sign in to SetMe Downloads.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Unattended setup.
  3. Click Edit in the Access options section.
  4. Select an access option and click Save.
  5. Optional: configure any other unattended access settings.
  6. Click the corresponding button to generate the installer.

All unattended devices deployed via the installer will inherit the selected access option.

Edit access options for an individual device

  1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
  2. In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. 
    Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
  3. Hover over the unattended device that you want to manage and click the ⋮ (vertical ellipsis) icon.
  4. Select Manage access from the popup menu.
    Select an access option.
  5. Click Save.

Edit access options for multiple unattended devices

  1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
  2. In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. 
    Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the unattended devices you want to manage.
  4. Click the Access button on the toolbar.
  5. Select an access option.
  6. Click Save.
