Basic access settings

This feature is available in the SetMe Professional edition.

Basic access settings allow you to grant other users in your company access to your unattended devices. The following basic settings are available:

  • Private: access is limited to the device owner and users with the Administrator role. Users with the Agent role cannot see or access the device.
  • Public: access is granted to all users within the company.

Agents who have been granted shared access to a device can perform the following actions on that device:

Users with an Administrator role have full access to all unattended devices in the organization. Having full access allows administrators to:

Configure access settings

Configure access settings when installing unattended access in a support session

  1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
  2. Connect to the remote device using a Client ID.
  3. Go to the Unattended access tab in the Session panel.
  4. Click Show unattended access settings, and then click Edit in the Access settings section.
  5. Select an access setting and click Save.
  6. Optional: configure any other unattended access settings.
  7. Click Install unattended access.

The new unattended device will be created with the specified access settings.

Configure access settings when generating an unattended access installer

  1. Sign in to SetMe Downloads.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Unattended setup.
  3. Click Edit in the access settings section.
  4. Select an access setting and click Save.
  5. Optional: configure any other unattended access settings.
  6. Click the corresponding button to generate the installer.

All unattended devices deployed via the installer will inherit the selected access setting.

Edit access settings

Edit access settings for an individual device

  1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
  2. In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. 
    Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
  3. Hover over the unattended device that you want to manage and click the ⋮ (vertical ellipsis) icon.
  4. Select Manage access from the popup menu.
    Select an access setting.
  5. Click Save.

Edit access settings for multiple unattended devices

  1. Sign in to the SetMe Expert console.
  2. In the navigation bar at the top of the screen, choose Unattended. 
    Alternatively, you can open SetMe Unattended devices in your browser.
  3. Select the checkboxes next to the unattended devices you want to manage.
  4. Click the Access button on the toolbar.
  5. Select an access setting.
  6. Click Save.
