User groups
A SetMe user group is a collection of users. User groups allow owners of unattended devices to assign permissions for multiple users at once, simplifying permission management. For example, you could create a user group named "QA" and grant it standard permissions to access the QA department's test devices. Any user added to this group automatically inherits the QA group permissions. When a new employee joins your organization and requires access to test devices, you can quickly grant the necessary permissions by adding them to the QA user group. Similarly, if an employee changes roles within the organization, you can efficiently update their access by removing them from their old user groups and adding them to the appropriate new ones, instead of manually editing individual permissions.
Here are some important characteristics of groups:
- A user group can contain many users, and a user can belong to multiple user groups.
- User groups can't be nested; they can contain only users, not other groups.
- There is no default user group that automatically includes all users in the SetMe subscription. If you want to have a user group like that, you must create it and assign each new user to it.

The special "Everyone" group
The "Everyone" group ensures compatibility of access settings when transitioning from the edition with basic access options to the edition with advanced options. Unattended devices that were accessible to all users of the subscription under the basic settings retain this access mode when using the advanced settings.
If a subscription has unattended devices with the access setting "Any agent can see and access the unattended device", then upon switching to the edition with advanced settings, an "Everyone" group is automatically created. This group includes all agents existing at the time of the switch. Unattended devices configured with the "Any agent can see and access the unattended device" setting will be automatically reconfigured to grant access to this group.
